Drained, most of our lives, living in the past,
Hoping relentlessly, for that one moment to last.
Trying to find happiness in our misery,
We forgot to smile but became a big mockery.
Made up scenarios scripted in our heads,
Inscrutable destiny kept pulling all the threads.
Bewildered we attempt to fathom every tale,
Erroneously we contrived “satisfaction” to a holy grail.
Speculating to unravel this enigma called Life,
We are often led astray by our own personal strife.
So let’s terminate this unceasing quest to answer, “What’s life’s treasure?”,
The number of smiles we bestow is only life’s measure!
